It was a great day of competitive golf at Sterling Farms with a ton of hard-fought matches. Here are the results:
Tony Tedesco won the battle of the big-hitters 4 & 3 over Mike Szemenyei
Mike had a lead after nine, but Tony won four of the next five holes, keyed by a bomb 50-foot birdie putt on 11.
Jack Palmer defeated Tom Aberle 1-up to win the A Flight
Jack had to hit a pressure-packed five-footer for the win on 18 after Tom’s birdie putt slipped past.
Panos Triantafyllos defeated Pete Silver 1-up to win the B Flight
Pete nailed a number of long putts on the back nine, but then horse-shoed a shorty on 18 after Panos had drained a clutch 4-footer.
Bob Fogel defeated Kurt Studer on the 19th hole to win the C Flight
Bob birdied 3 but Kurt eagled it in this nail-biting, handicap-lowering match for both players.
Mark Vassolotti defeated Kevin Behan on 15 to win the Senior Division
This is a four-peat for Mark. Can anyone take down the big V-machine or should we ban him next year?
